Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 25 June 2026

LendBook ("LendBook", "we", "our", "the app"), provided by Built4U Apps, is a private bookkeeping utility that helps an individual record and track loans they have personally given or taken. It is a record-keeping tool — it does not provide loans, lending, or any financial service, and it never moves money. This policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and your rights. It applies to users worldwide.

1. Information We Handle

Account & authentication
Your mobile phone number, used to sign you in via Firebase Phone OTP.

Profile
Your display name, and — if you choose to add them — your email address, country, currency, language preference, subscription tier, and a business name and logo.

Loan records you enter
Loan amounts, interest rates, tenure, loan type, disbursement and top-up details, due dates, payment history, and notes.

Details you enter about borrowers or lenders (all optional — you choose what to record)
Name, phone and alternate phone, nickname, relationship, email, date of birth, address and city, occupation, employer, monthly income, identification or tax numbers (for example PAN or GST in India, or the equivalent in your country), emergency contact, company name, business type, and notes.

Documents & photos you upload
Such as a profile or business logo, borrower identity/KYC documents or photos, and the agreement and report PDFs the app generates. These are stored in Firebase Storage.

Contacts
Only the single contact you select, and only when you tap "pick from contacts", to prefill a borrower or lender's name and phone. Your contact list is never uploaded or stored.

Diagnostics
Anonymous crash and stability reports via Firebase Crashlytics, to help us fix bugs. These contain no phone number, name, or lending data.

Subscriptions
When you buy a plan, our payments partner RevenueCat receives your app-store purchase receipt and a non-identifying user ID. It does not receive your phone number or lending data.

2. How We Use Your Information

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale.

3. Information About Other People

Much of what you enter — borrower and lender details — is personal information about other people. You decide what to record, and you are responsible for it.

Your responsibility: By entering another person's details (including any identification or tax number such as PAN/GST), you confirm that you have that person's consent, or another lawful basis, to record and store their information, and that you will handle it lawfully. Record only what you genuinely need.

LendBook stores this information on your behalf, inside your own private account. In data-protection terms, you are the controller of the borrower/lender data you enter, and LendBook acts as a custodian (processor) that stores it for you. This mirrors our Terms of Service, which require you to obtain any consent needed before recording another person's details.

4. Storage, Security & International Transfer

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore and Storage), managed by Google LLC and hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure. It is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access is restricted to your authenticated phone number by Firebase Security Rules, so other users cannot read your data. Identification numbers are displayed masked in the app. Because Google operates globally, your data may be stored or processed on servers outside your own country.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share it only with the service providers needed to run the app:

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained while your account is active. You can export your loans and full payment history as a CSV first (Settings → Data → Export Data). If you delete your account (Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by emailing us), all your data and your authentication record are permanently deleted within 24 hours. This is irreversible.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you may have additional rights — such as to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us to exercise them.

8. Children

LendBook is not directed to individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

9. Consent & Changes

You agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service when you continue at sign-in. We may update this policy from time to time; the effective date above reflects the most recent revision, and continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
